Scattery Island Village or “The Street” as it is know to some, has seen many evolutions over the years. Here we capture some of these views, thanks to photographs kindly given to us for this archive.

The Office of Public Works (OPW) have undertaken ongoing works and  development on the Island which have restored The Street beautifully to its former pristine state.

The photographs here capture some of the village dwellings in 1968 courtesy of Raymond Glynn, exterior and interior views. We believe the dwellings to be Brennans and McMahons.

You can also see The Island Village Street View from The National Folklore Collection DCU 1970.
